PUBLIC PROCUREMENT IN THE EU

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

Today I’m highly recommending you read up on this book. A guide to the European Community Procurement Directives in the public and utilities sectors, which sets out the minimum standards to be provided by the EU member states in guaranteeing a level playing field for regulating public procurement. This book explains the legal provisions that must be complied to compete for public contracts. It’s one of the greatest law books about today. In case you didn’t know, it’s published by OXFORD UNIVERSITY PRESS ,(one of the better publishers) and I’m going to give this a respectable rating of 4 out of 5. This is similar to another book I bought a while back which I paid MUCH more for.

This updated edition includes an account of the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 and important recent case law, particularly in the fields of implied terms and damages. I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s one of the handiest law books you’ll find today. It’s published by SWEET and MAXWELL LTD ,a leading publisher in their field, so I’m giving this a reasonable 3 out of 5 rating. Let me know if you decide buy it and tell me what you think of it.
